2. Physical and Chemical Properties
- Appearance: White crystal or crystalline powder
- Solubility: Practically insoluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and oxalic acid solution; soluble in hot inorganic acids
- Thermal Stability: It dehydrates first when heated, and decomposes into lanthanum oxide (), CO and under high-temperature calcination
- Chemical Properties: Stable, lanthanum is in +3 valence state with no obvious oxidizing property
3. Preparation Method
Using lanthanum chloride or lanthanum nitrate solution as raw materials, oxalic acid or ammonium oxalate is added, pH is adjusted to precipitate the product, which is then obtained after washing and drying.
