Appearance: Lanthanum fluoride is a white powder
Application: It can be used to prepare scintillators and rare earth crystal laser materials required for modern medical image display technology and nuclear science, fluoride glass optical fibers and rare earth infrared glass. It is used in the manufacture of arc lamp carbon electrodes for lighting sources, fluoride ion selective electrodes for chemical analysis, and special alloys and electrolytic production of metallic lanthanum in the metallurgical industry. It can also be used as a material for pulling lanthanum fluoride single crystals.
